We got up early to celebrate Pioneer Day so that the girls could run the mile Speedy Spaniard race and they did AWESOME! Meg ran her mile in 7:38 and was the 8th girl overall, and 4th in her age group. Brinn ran an 8:49 and was 6th in her age group. They beat their last years' times by over a minute! It was fun to watch! Meg even ran with a possibly broken toe and still did awesome.

After the race, Brinn won $10 in the raffle and then we watched the parade. Eric really liked the police motorcycles at the beginning and then just sat and watched quietly until he fell asleep about half-way through. My favorite part was the 2,000 Stripling Warriors. A bunch of the stakes in south Utah county had the scouts/young men march as stripling warriors. They were dressed up and each had a big stick. It was really powerful seeing so many of the youth marching together. It made me think about Eric growing up and going on a mission. I think the church is in good hands.
